I remember tears streaming down your face, When I said, I'll never let you go, When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone, But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight... Just close your eyes, The sun is going down,You'll be alright, No one can hurt you now, Come morning light, You and I'll be safe & sound... Don't you dare look out your window darling; Everything's on fire.The war outside our door keeps raging on, Hold onto this lullaby. Even when the music's gone, gone, Just close your eyes, The sun is going down, You'll be alright, No one can hurt you now, Come morning light, You and I'll be safe & sound...

Finnick Odair: Is 24 years old and very handsome and tall with tan bronze hair, and stunning sea-green eyes making him very popular with the people in the Capitol. He was 14 when he won his first Hunger Games by using a trident and a net against other tributes. During the Quarter Quell Katniss, and Peeta make him an ally, which is key in the turnout of the Games.

Johanna Mason: Is sarcastic and mean towards Katniss. She is from District 7, but she says she has no friends or family there. She won her orignal Hunger Games by pretending she was a weakling and a coward, so no one reguarded her as a threat, but when few tributes remained, she revealed herself as a vicious killer. She also teams up with Katniss, Peeta & Finnick.

Direct Passages;

"Although they never mention it, I owe the people who frequent the Hob. Gale told me that Greasy Sae, the old woman who serves up soup, started a collection to sponsor Peeta and me during the Games. It was supposed to be just a Hob thing, but a lot of other people heard about it and chipped in. I don't know exactly how much it was, and the price of any gift in the arena was exorbitant. But for all I know, it made the difference between my life and death"

"I knew it. In this way, Peeta's not hard to predict. While I was wallowing around on the floor of that cellar, thinking only of myself, he was here, thinking only of me. Shame isn't a strong enough word for what I feel."

"And the more I come to know these people, the worse it is. Because, on the whole, I don't hate them. And some I like. And a lot of them are so damaged that my natural instinct would be to protect them. But all of them must die if I'm to save Peeta."

"It's stupid, I know, that his efforts make me so vexed. All I wanted was to keep Peeta alive, and I couldn't and Finnick could, and I should be nothing but grateful. And I am. But I am also furious because it means that I will never stop owing Finnick Odair. Ever. So how can I kill him in his sleep?"

"That's when I remember the wire and how important it was to him. I look frantically around. Where is it? Where is it? And then I see it, still clutched in Wiress's hands, far out in the water. My stomach contracts at the thought of what I must do next."

Possible Themes;

Courage;
Nearly all the characters in Catching Fire are brave. Katniss and Peeta are ready to die for each other and are always acting rashly to defend their values. Mags and Wiress give up their lives to protect the others. Johanna calls the Capitol out, and she and Finnick risk their lives to save Peeta and Katniss. Cinna puts his life on the line to give Katniss a costume that will further incite the rebellion. Not all of the good-guy characters are great fighters or strategists. Not all of them are even on the same side. But each is capable of acts of great bravery, and each turns his or her strengths into courageous actions both in the arena and outside it.
Loyalty;
Katniss values loyalty almost as much as trust. In real life the two usually go together, but in the arena you often have to be loyal to someone you don't trust, and sometimes you have to trust someone you don't plan on staying loyal to. The whole notion of the Hunger Games toys with and threatens traditional ideas of loyalty and trust. The players all need allies in order to survive, but they can only hold onto these alliances for so long before they have to strike out on their own. This goes completely against the values of someone like Katniss or Peeta. In Catching Fire these two friends are both determined to stay loyal to each other even if it results in their own death.

Setting;

Catching Fire takes place in the fictional country of Panem, located in what is left of North America. The Capitol, which is in charge of all the people in the Capitol and the twelve outerlying districts. The Capitol is located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. District 12, which is home to Katniss and Peeta is located in the Appalachian region, which is coal-rich. The Hunger Games takes place annually in an arena specially built fo the event in an undiscolsed location.

Book Review;

In Catching Fire, Suzanne Collins tells the story of Katniss and Peeta's journey into there second run in the Hunger Games. It's a story of strength, survival, courage, loyalty and love. It follows two young teenagers, who have their whole lives ahead of them, however are forced to fight for their lives for the second time. I highly recconmend this book to anyone. If you hear what the books are about, you may instantly put the book down and never want to read it. The topic may be a bit out there and unrealistic, but it is a page turner. I garentee you, you will not be able to put it down, you'll instantly fall in love.
